QUARANTINE
Acrylic on Canvas, 40 x 30 in.

This is the first of three pieces of the Quarantine Desert Series. I had to leave Manhattan and move to Rio Rancho, New Mexico due to the pandemic. I've experienced a lot of changes - I've had an opportunity to reflect on my life and get to know myself better as a result. It required patience and, most importantly, acceptance. The New Mexico desert is simply beautiful and inspiring, and my journey here has been challenging but just as inspiring. In this painting, I'm showing my solitude and willingness to adapt to my new reality.
REBIRTH
Acrylic on Canvas, 40 x 30 in.

This is the second work of the Quarantine Desert Series, wherein I've used myself as the subject. The idea came around in April of last year, when I realized that the quarantine wasn't going to only be for two weeks, and that it would last much longer than that. I felt like I needed to view this time in isolation as a blessing, as a time where I can reflect on who I am, and who I want to become; a unique opportunity to reinvent myself.
I set the scene during sunset, as I find them exceptionally beautiful here in the New Mexican desert.
HEALING
Acrylic on Canvas, 48 x 60 in.

This is the third and final piece of the Quarantine Desert Series, a representation of the old and the new; the new in need of the wisdom of the old. A healing from within. The universal truth that we are the only ones truly capable of repairing and improving ourselves.
